In July 2012 the Eleventh International Conference on Flow Processes in Composite Materials was hosted by the Centre of Advanced Materials (CACM) here at the University of Auckland.

It was a busy schedule of interesting and informative presentations and discussion over four days. The conference began Monday morning with an insightful plenary by Prof. Comas-Cardona on the evaluation and robustness of manufacturing processes for composite structures in the automotive industry. Prof. Hubert introduced Tuesday's sessions with an informative plenary on the commercial application of out-of-autoclave prepreg structures, their advantages and hurdles compared to the traditional autoclave process. On Wednesday the focus was on industrial applications, with presenters from local and international industries demonstrating the power of linkages between academia and industry.

We were fortunate to have superb weather for the entire conference, despite it being the middle of winter, which made our trip out to the Waitakere Ranges and Piha beach on Tuesday especially enjoyable.

As delegates may have noticed, we took photographs throughout the event. They are now available here at the CACM website for you to view and download.
